Pellings Scrub
Pellings Scrub is a significant rainforest remnant south of Malanda that provides habitat for the Atherton Tableland’s iconic Lumholtz’s tree-kangaroo. In addition to an 18 hectare Nature Refuge, the property includes a four hectare cleared, grassy paddock perfect for residential, agricultural or horticultural purposes.
Conservation Values
Rainforest has been extensively cleared elsewhere on the Atherton Tablelands. William Creek is part of the North Johnstone River catchment and flows along one boundary of the property. The Nature Refuge is connected to other vegetation by small wildlife corridors which are being strengthened by replanting programs.
