Thank You to Our Chair

On behalf of the Board and staff of Queensland Trust for Nature (QTFN), we would like to sincerely thank our Chair, Dr Adrian Volders, for the substantial contribution he has made to the growth and evolution of QTFN.

When Dr Volders joined the QTFN’s Funds Management Committee in November 2014, he not only brought his considerable water quality, biodiversity offsets and nutrient trading experience but also his innovative and entrepreneurial approach to continuous improvement. He made a significant contribution in the committee which was further amplified in his role as Chair. His insights and intellect helped shape the financial future of QTFN and positioned us strongly in the emerging environmental markets.

One of the shining examples of this is the purchase of Lot 83 in the Daintree. Dr Volders vision of the cleared area nestled within the world’s oldest living rainforest has brought together key partners around developing a business model that will unlock global funding through the carbon sequestration for large scale rainforest restoration.

Dr Volders has played a fundamental role in securing Queensland’s biodiversity for future generations. We’d like to thank him for his dedication and creativity, his passion and expertise, and his vision and enthusiasm in helping build QTFN to continue our positive impact on the biodiversity of Queensland’s unique landscape. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours and the positive difference we know he will continue to bring.
